Is this the one we saw at Exotics? Wasn't it 38k before?

I’m SHOCKED that title isn’t salvage.

I like it. I’d love it for $20k.

NP. It’s a good, powerful engine that doesn’t weigh much in a very clean, low mileage E30 M3 shell. While the purists will say Hununununoengineswapthecarisawfulnow, I have a friend who had an E30 M3 with an S14 who said that it was totally gutless. He sold it and got one with a turbo LS1 and a T56 and was happy.

NP at 35k?! Whole E30 M3s are only worth so much because they’re classics. A shell with a cheap swap is...not, fun as it may be. Plus, I’ve seen this one in person, and it doesn’t look nearly so clean up close.

You aren’t buying a shell, not are you buying a cheap swap. You’re buying a running, driving car with a ton of modifications to make it run and drive better than stock.

Right, so it’s worth something, and would probably be plenty of fun on its own merits. But it’s not a collectible classic, where the price reflects authenticity and nostalgia more than, say, driving performance, and shouldnt be priced like one. For 15 or even 20k this could be a lot of fun to drive around. But it isn’t an E30 M3 any more. If you’d pay 35k for someone else’s hacked-together LS swap into an old 911 or M3 to replace a blown engine, fine, but you’re not ever going to see that money again.

That was the saddest thing there. I’m not even acknowledging the guy who parked his S4.
